By late October in Los Cabos, the weather starts settling into one of the nicest stretches of the year. Days are still warm and sunny, evenings become more comfortable, and the local calendar suddenly fills with seasonal food, Halloween parties, catrina celebrations, colorful Mexican marigold displays, and Thanksgiving gatherings.

It is a great time to be outside, make dinner plans, and take advantage of the events happening around Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo before the Christmas season begins.

Here are some of the upcoming festive events already on the 2026 calendar.

Chiles en Nogada at Brigantine Steak House

Date: October 1, 2026
Time: Check with the restaurant for available seating times
Location: Brigantine Steak House, Los Cabos

We are starting with one of Mexico’s most recognizable seasonal dishes.

Chiles en Nogada are closely tied to Mexico’s Independence season and traditionally appear on menus for only a limited time each year. The iconic dish is made with a poblano chile filled with a sweet-and-savory meat and fruit mixture, covered in creamy walnut sauce, and finished with pomegranate seeds and parsley.

The green, white, and red ingredients mirror the colors of the Mexican flag, which is part of what makes this dish such a strong tradition during this time of year.

Brigantine Steak House is featuring Chiles en Nogada as part of the Los Cabos seasonal calendar, making this a good opportunity to try a dish that many Mexican families look forward to each year.

Catrina’s Night at Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos

Date: October 29, 2026
Time: 7pm-12am
Location: Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort

If you have seen the beautifully painted faces, oversized floral headpieces, elegant dresses, and dramatic hats that appear throughout Mexico this time of year, you have probably seen a Catrina.

La Catrina is one of the most recognizable figures in Mexican art and popular culture. Over time, she has inspired an entire visual style built around detailed face painting, fashion, flowers, ornate accessories, and increasingly creative interpretations of the character.

Catrina’s Night at Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos puts that artistry front and center. Expect elaborate makeup, carefully styled costumes, floral details, and plenty of attention to design and presentation.

This is a fun event for anyone who enjoys fashion, makeup, photography, or simply wants to see one of Mexico’s most recognizable seasonal traditions brought to life in a polished resort setting.

Halloween at The Rooftop at The Cape

Date: October 31, 2026
Time: 7pm-1am
Location: The Rooftop at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, Cabo San Lucas

Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, which should make Cabo especially lively.

The Rooftop at The Cape already has its Halloween event on the calendar. With its elevated setting and coastal views, it is a more polished alternative to the usual indoor party scene. Expect costumes, music, drinks, and a festive crowd, all with one of the better rooftop views in Cabo San Lucas.

More Halloween events will almost certainly be announced closer to the date, but this is one of the main ones already confirmed.

Día de Muertos Brunch at The Ledge

Date: November 1, 2026
Time: 9am-2pm
Location: The Ledge at The Cape, Cabo San Lucas

The following morning, The Cape shifts from Halloween into Día de Muertos with a special brunch at The Ledge. The menu leans into Mexican flavors and seasonal dishes, with foods such as mole, tamales, and pan de muerto appearing alongside live music and the restaurant’s Pacific views.

This is an easy way to enjoy the holiday through food, flowers, color, and atmosphere without committing to a late-night event.

Candle Bazar at The Cape

Date: November 1, 2026
Time: 10am-4pm
Location: The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, Cabo San Lucas

The Cape is also hosting a Candle Bazar on November 1. Candles are one of the most recognizable details you will see throughout the festive displays at this time of year, usually paired with flowers, papel picado, artwork, and colorful altars.

The bazaar gives visitors another way to enjoy the handmade and decorative side of the holiday during the day. Admission to the event is just $300MXN.

Celebrations in Downtown Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo

Date: November 1–2, 2026
Time: Events take place at various times throughout both days
Location: Downtown Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo

For a more local, walkable experience, head into downtown Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo over the first weekend of November.

In Cabo San Lucas, the marina and downtown area become much livelier, with public installations, performers, decorated boats, local businesses joining in, and plenty of people dressed in elaborate Catrina-inspired looks.

One of the more unusual traditions is Altares en el Mar, where decorated boats take the celebration out onto the marina. It gives the waterfront a completely different atmosphere and makes this one of the most distinctive public events of the weekend.

San José del Cabo has its own version around Plaza Mijares and the historic center, where seasonal displays, cultural programming, music, and community events bring more people into the streets.

This is a good option if you would rather wander, take in the atmosphere, and see what is happening around town than commit to a formal dinner or ticketed event.

Día de Muertos at ACRE

Date: November 2, 2026
Time: 5pm-10pm
Location: ACRE, San José del Cabo

This annual ACRE celebration includes a Catrinas parade, live music, seasonal dishes, traditional decorative displays, and a Catrina contest.

The setting works especially well for this kind of event. With palms, gardens, pathways, and outdoor spaces throughout the property, the flowers, lighting, costumes, and displays become part of the experience as you move around.

This is an excellent choice if you want dinner, music, and entertainment all in one place.

Flora Farms 10th Annual Altar Competition

Date: November 2, 2026
Time: 6pm-10pm
Location: Flora Farms, Ánimas Bajas, San José del Cabo

Flora Farms hosts one of the most talked about events of the year in Baja California Sur for Día de Muertos. Local charities create altar installations throughout the farm in San Jose del Cabo, each with its own elaborate combination of flowers, candles, artwork, decorative objects, and traditional details. The evening also includes folkloric performances, live music, food, and entertainment.

One of the best parts is that the displays are spread throughout the property, so there is plenty to see as you walk around rather than just one central installation. Many of the proceeds go to charity, so attending this event means you’re supporting a great cause.

Visitors who are not attending the ticketed portion of the event can still visit the farm to see the altar displays.

Día de Muertos at AGUA

Date: November 2, 2026
Time: 5:30pm-10pm
Location: AGUA at One&Only Palmilla, San José del Cabo

AGUA is marking November 2 with a special dinner in its open-air restaurant overlooking the coast. The focus is on the meal itself, with Mexican ingredients, seasonal presentation, floral details, and subtle references to the occasion worked into the evening.

This one is less about programming and more about sitting down somewhere beautiful, ordering dinner, and enjoying how the restaurant interprets the season.

Festival de La Catrina

Date: Early November 2026
Time: Full schedule to be announced
Location: San José del Cabo

Festival de La Catrina has more of a community festival feel, with handcrafted Catrina competitions, traditional dance, food tastings, and local participants showing off their own interpretations of the character.

The handmade work is a big part of the appeal. Some entries lean into costume and makeup, while others focus on sculpture, decorative pieces, and detailed design.

With performances and food happening alongside the competition, there is more to see here than a single display or photo opportunity.

Thanksgiving at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

Date: November 26–29, 2026
Time: 3pm-10pm
Location: Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, Cabo San Lucas

By late November, the festive calendar shifts toward Thanksgiving.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is planning a full Thanksgiving weekend rather than just a single dinner. The program includes Thanksgiving dinner at Don Manuel’s on November 26 and an oceanfront Sunday brunch at The Beach Club Palapa on November 29.

This is the perfect spot for families or groups looking for a high-end experience and who want to make a long weekend of the holiday.

Thanksgiving at ACRE

Date: November 26, 2026
Time: 4pm–10pm
Location: ACRE, San José del Cabo

ACRE Restaurant & Cocktail Bar will serve Thanksgiving-inspired specials alongside its regular à la carte menu on November 26, giving guests the option to celebrate without being limited to a fixed holiday menu. For groups with different tastes, this setup works particularly well: some can order the seasonal dishes, while others stick with ACRE favorites.

The setting is part of the appeal. Dinner takes place across ACRE’s palm-filled property, with outdoor seating, gardens, and the restaurant’s open-air atmosphere adding to the evening.

There is also a second Thanksgiving option at Rústico at the Farm from 5:30pm to 10pm. This one is a family-style dinner served directly on the farm, with a seasonal menu built around ingredients harvested nearby. Dinner is MX$2,535 per person.

Thanksgiving at Las Ventanas al Paraíso

Date: November 26–27, 2026
Time: Contact the restaurant directly for reservations
Location: Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, Los Cabos

Las Ventanas is taking a more Baja-inspired approach to Thanksgiving. Its holiday programming includes private dining, beachfront experiences, and Back to the Roots, which incorporates traditional barbacoa cooking techniques using local lamb.

Save this one on your calendar if you’re looking for a gathering and celebratory side of Thanksgiving without simply recreating a standard North American holiday dinner.

Thanksgiving by Enrique Olvera: Manta x Cosme

Date: November 26–28, 2026
Time: 5:30pm-11pm
Location: Manta at The Cape, Cabo San Lucas

Manta at The Cape is teaming up with Cosme, Enrique Olvera’s acclaimed New York restaurant, for a three-night Thanksgiving collaboration.

Guests can order from a special Cosme menu alongside Manta’s regular à la carte offerings, with holiday-inspired dishes shaped by the style of both restaurants. The collaboration runs throughout Thanksgiving weekend, so you do not have to fit it into Thursday night specifically.

Fire & Embers: Thanksgiving at SEARED

Date: November 26, 2026
Time: 5:30pm-10pm
Location: SEARED at One&Only Palmilla, San José del Cabo

SEARED at One&Only Palmilla has recently announced they will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner confirmed for November 26.

The event is listed as “Fire & Embers: Thanksgiving at SEARED,” fitting naturally with the steakhouse’s focus on grilled meats and fire-led cooking. Full menu details and exact Thanksgiving hours have not yet been released, so this is one to save and check back again closer to November.

The Festive Season is Just Getting Started
