Summer in Los Cabos is renowned for its sunny days and warm temperatures, with average highs around 95°F (35°C). Although it gets hot, many visitors come to Los Cabos from Texas and Arizona because the climate is more pleasant when compared to their home states. With cooler evenings, a regular breeze from the ocean, and plenty of ways to stay refreshed, here are eight insider tips to help you enjoy the season to the fullest.
1. Keep Your Home Cool
Maintaining a cool home environment is a must during summer. Homeowners should schedule regular maintenance for all air conditioning units to ensure they operate efficiently. Improving insulation by sealing windows, doors, and any other potential drafts to retain cool air and reduce energy consumption works wonders as well.
Pro Tip: Since Los Cabos often has a breeze, you can use cross-ventilation to cool your home naturally. Open windows and doors on opposite sides of your home to create a cross-breeze, allowing cooler air to flow through and reducing the need for air conditioning. This method is energy-efficient and can help reduce your electricity bills.
2. Get a Resort Day Pass
If you’re looking to cool off, why not treat yourself and your loved ones to a day pass at Corazon Cabo Resort & Spa? Spend the day enjoying the pool and the best swimmable beach in Cabo, where you can take a dip in the turquoise waters. To top it all off, they have private cabanas and loungers to relax in shaded areas while their resident DJ plays live music.
An adult day pass is $800 MXN, which includes a complementary $800 MXN credit on food and beverages as well. Kids between the age of 6 and 12 get access for $400 MXN, which also includes a $400 MXN credit. And if you’re stopping by with little ones, children under the age of 6 are free.

3. Plan Water Activities and Tours
There is no shortage of fun water activities in Los Cabos to help you stay cool while enjoying the summer weather. Consider booking a 4-hour Los Cabos Corridor snorkeling tour to explore the coral reefs at popular spots like Chileno Bay. From manta rays and tropical fish to sea turtles, there will be plenty of opportunities to spot marine life and cool off.
If you’re seeking a more upscale experience, consider spending the day on an all-inclusive Cabo yacht charter. Take in the panoramic views of the sea with personalized service while you’re on board, with service tailored to your preferences. Your personal chef will cook while you sit back, sip on a craft cocktail, and take in the views of the rock formations and the horizon.
4. Wear Breathable Fabrics
Whether you’re on the go or lounging at home, summer is the best time to opt for clothing made from lightweight, breathable fabrics. The best materials to help you stay cool are cotton, linen, or moisture-wicking fabrics that allow your skin to breathe and wick away sweat. This can significantly enhance your comfort level, especially during outdoor activities.
5. Spend the Day in Santiago
For a change of scenery, venture to Santiago to swim by the waterfall at Cascada Sol de Mayo. The short hike leads you through picturesque desert terrain to a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole, ideal for a relaxing dip surrounded by vegetation. This desert oasis, found at the base of the Sierra Laguna mountains, is an ideal way to spend the day away from the busy tourist areas of the city. Here, you’ll enjoy stunning canyon views and, for the adventurous, a 25-foot jump into a deep pool.
To reach Cascada Sol de Mayo, drive just beyond the village of Santiago off Highway 1, which connects La Paz and San Jose del Cabo. Follow the signs for “Cascada Sol de Mayo” or “Rancho Ecológico Sol de Mayo.” The paved road will eventually turn to dirt and dead-end, where you’ll find bathrooms and a small restaurant that is open at sporadic times. From there, follow the well-marked trail about half a mile past the restaurant, over a ridgeline, and down into the canyon.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the hike to reach the waterfall is quite rocky. And, while this experience is technically free, we suggest bringing a small $5 USD donation to help keep the facilities open.
6. Schedule Outdoor Activities Early or Late
If you’re not spending the day by a body of water, consider planning your outdoor activities during the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late afternoon. This can help you avoid the peak afternoon heat and have a more comfortable outdoor experience. This is also key to avoiding potential heat-related health issues like heat exhaustion.
7. Escape the Heat Indoors
Despite all of the beautiful outdoor activities in Los Cabos, sometimes you’re just in the mood to spend the afternoon indoors. This is the perfect time to explore one of Cabo San Lucas’ shopping centers like Puerto Paraíso Mall or Luxury Avenue. Not only are they just steps away from each other but they also have a variety of boutique and luxury shops, a bowling alley, restaurants, and movie theater to keep you entertained for hours.
